Gold cufflinks created from Prince Charles's carThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Wednesday, 3rd February 2010 (1564 views) A set of cufflinks featuring an 18-c gold finish has been made using parts from Prince Charles's Aston Martin to raise money for charity.Pistons removed from the car when the prince decided to convert the vehicle to make it more eco-friendly have been transformed into 200 pairs of limited edition gold and aluminium cufflinks costing £995 per set. TMB Art Metal, which undertook the job, has created two editions of the cufflinks, with 100 pairs of each being made. One version is a mini sculpture of the car itself, while the other takes on the form of the Aston Martin DB6's wheel spinners. Each set of cufflinks has arms crafted from gold. All of the profits raised from the sale of the items will be donated to The Prince's Trust. Christopher Bennett, managing director of TMB, commented: "These cufflinks are quintessential conversation pieces, with each pair directly benefiting The Prince's Trust." The charity needs to raise £1 million a week to continue its work of helping young people into education, training or work.
