Gold Asia '97 Malaysia
7-9 November

A UNIQUE SHOWCASE OF HIGH CARATAGE GOLD AND GOLD JEWELLERY PRODUCTS IS TO BE ORGANISED BY WORLD GOLD COUNCIL, FAR EAST

Following the success of "Gold Asia '94, Singapore", the Council has decided to stage a similar event this year entitled "Gold Asia '97 Malaysia" from November 7th - 9th, 1997 at the Putra World Trade Center, Kuala Lumpur. This unique gold exhibition will provide an exclusive display of carefully selected high caratage gold jewellery and gold products from around the world.

One event to achieve multiple marketing objectives

The Council aims to position "Gold Asia '97 Malaysia" as the platform to develop innovative gold merchandise, expand regional distribution channels, educate the trade on the latest market information and increase consumer awareness and knowledge of high caratage products. Tailored to the needs of the international gold market, this major event will contribute to the development of the gold market into the next century.

Why Malaysia ?

Malaysia is the strategic choice of location to stage this exhibition for several reasons. The country has sustained an economic growth rate of over 8% per annum over the last 9 years. It is emerging as a regional distribution centre, given its accelerated economic growth and its fast developing infrastructure. It is also expected to be a fast growing financial hub in the region for the next millennium. Malaysia's tax free liberal market status is able to support the gold business. Currently, Malaysia is one of the largest gold jewellery fabrication centres, fabricating 100 tonnes annually.

Multi-faceted programmes

Highlights of the exhibition will include:

  • Displays of unique theme merchandise by 100 leading manufacturers from Asia, Middle East and Europe.

  • Strategic Country Collections based on specific marketing issues in each Asian country.

  • Unique gold objects - the industry's collection of eye-popping and surprising gold objects from throughout Asia.

  • Trade Seminars to educate market participants on topics such as Asian Market Analysis, Product Development, Gold Technology and Retailing.

  • International Gold Bar Collection, a unique and comprehensive display of gold bars from around the world.

"Gold Asia '97" has gained the endorsement of the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia, which enhances the value and impact of the event.

Gold Asia '97 Malaysia - a blueprint for the future of gold and the gold jewellery industry

The Council expects that through this exhibition, visitors will learn of the trends for gold products and jewellery into the next century. As such, "Gold Asia '97 Malaysia" will provide a blueprint of the future for gold and the gold jewellery industry.

The Council is confident that this exhibition will play a key role in contributing to the growth of the gold market both in Malaysia and throughout the region.
