A number of rare gold Chinese coins are set to be auctioned next month.

The coins have been certified by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation and will be offered to bidders by Champion Hong Kong at the Hyatt Regency Hong Kong on August 22nd.

Among the highlights is an undated Emperor Kuang Hsu Fantasy gold dollar, which features an image of the emperor on one side and a dragon design on the other.

Emperor Kuang Hsu reigned over China at the turn of the 20th century and died in 1908.

He was the ninth emperor of the Ch'ing dynasty and spent his final years in confinement after failing to impose a radical reform scheme.

Champion Hong Kong offered a number of other rare Chinese gold coins at an auction held in February this year.

Among the highlights was a Yuan dynasty five-tael gold Sycee coin and a 1926 dragon and phoenix ten-dollar gold coin, CoinLink reports.
