Wednesday, 28th July 2010 (595 views) A Faberge egg containing a unique gold statuette is to be handed over to a Russian museum as set out in Theo Faberge's will. The egg, which features a gold equestrian figure of the last Russian emperor, is to be given to the Tsarskoye Selo Museum near St Petersburg, the Voice of Russia reports. Measuring 30 cm high, the ornate egg has engravings of members of the Romanov dynasty on its exterior, with the Tsarskoye Selo palaces seen in the background. Theo Faberge was the grandson of the original Faberge founder, Peter Carl Faberge, and had previously donated three eggs to the museum. Peter Carl Faberge did not actually make any of the eggs that made his business famous - master jewellers Michael Evlampievich Perchin and Henrik Wigstrom were the men responsible for them. Many of the eggs were stamped with the initials of one of these two jewellers, but not all.
