Tuesday, 16th March 2010 (1330 views) A rare yellow gold watch by Patek Philippe was one of the lots in a recent auction that was successfully sold.Antiquorum's Important Collectors' Wristwatches, Pocket Watches and Clocks sale - which was held in New York last week - saw a Patek Philippe World Time timepiece in yellow gold sell for $84,000 (£55,630), National Jeweler reports. The World Time range of watches was initially developed by Patek Philippe to display the time in 24 different international timezones and inspired the Travel Time series, which indicates the local and home times for those visiting other countries. Antiquorum's two-day auction brought over $5 million worth of sales in total. Other gold items offered to bidders at the event included a Rolex Stelline watch made in 1950, which features a tonneau-shaped 18-c yellow gold chronometer with a triple date calendar and moon phases. An 18-c gold Rolex Oyster Chronograph anti-magnetic timepiece also went up for sale at the auction.
