Friday, 12th March 2010 (2193 views) Investors may find that putting their money into gold during times of economic crisis is a good choice, as one expert has advised that the precious metal is "the bedrock of investment" during a recession.Niranjan Nikam, writing for the Deccan Herald, says that the beginning of the Hindu new year and Gudi Padwa are a time when gold soars in popularity among consumers and investors alike. "It is common knowledge that gold is the saviour at all times for people and that is the reason why so much of money is invested on this precious yellow metal," he states. Additionally, as well as being a popular choice for jewellery during the Indian festival season, the precious metal also provides a good way for an investor to diversify their portfolio, advises Mr Nikam. David Levenstein, a leading expert on precious metals, writing for Mineweb, recently suggested that investing in gold is a proven way for a person to preserve their wealth.
