Tuesday, 9th March 2010 (887 views) Breitling is set to unveil a unique gold pocket watch at the upcoming Baselworld 2010 event in March, it has been revealed.The luxury watch manufacturer has designed the timepiece in honour of Walter Owen Bentley, the founder of Bentley Motors, Luxist reports. Encased in 18-c yellow gold, the one-of-a-kind Grande Complication model is based on a late 19th-century design from the Breitling archives and comprises nearly 700 parts. Features of the gold watch include a perpetual calendar - displaying the date, day, month, moon phases and leap years - a minute repeater and a unique engraving depicting Mr Bentley at the wheel of one of his early racing cars. The piece is set to be showcased at the Baselworld 2010 exhibition in Switzerland from March 18th - 25th, alongside the work of some 2,000 global watch and jewellery companies. A total of 100,000 people are expected to attend the event to view the current trends and new creations in both the watch and jewellery sectors.
