Ivanka Trump has recently showcased new additions to her gold jewellery collection at a lavish launch party in New York, it has been reported.

Gold jewellery retailers and fashion editors attended the event last Monday (March 1st) in order to catch a glimpse of the 68 new pieces from Ms Trump's Fine Jewellery Collection, National Jeweler stated.

The collection already consists of 100 items of jewellery - many crafted from 18-c yellow gold - and the additional line is hoped to extend the "heirloom chic" look that Ms Trump's jewellery offers.

Prices start at $550 (£363) and go up to $8,000.

Recent research carried out by W magazine suggested that 80 per cent of affluent consumers in the US intend to increase their spending on fine jewellery and watches over the coming year.

Out of those questioned, some six in ten stated that fine jewellery and watches made from precious metals such as gold make good investment pieces.
