Drilling projects at the historic Santa open pit near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia, have revealed high-grade gold results, according to reports.

Exploration company Integra states that these positive new results provide the company with "increased confidence in the gold mineralised depth potential" of the area.

The Santa open pit is one of three potential gold deposits that are being tested at the Randalls Gold Project in order to ascertain whether they are suitable for underground mining in the future.

Construction at the site commenced on January 4th and the company says that it is on track for the first gold to be produced from the project in September 2010.

"The latest results continue an encouraging trend of success," read a company statement.

According to Integra, the Randalls Gold Project Development is the second integrated gold processing and mining development based on a new gold discovery in Australia in the last ten years.
