Auction house Sotheby's has revealed details of the gold objects it is to offer at its upcoming Magnificent Jewels sale in New York.

Taking place on December 9th, the event will see a gold filigree Cartier ring set with yellow diamonds and emeralds made between 1915 and 1920 put up for sale, with the item expected to sell for between $200,000 and $300,000 (£120,840 and £181,260).

An 18-c gold Cartier bracelet decorated with emeralds and diamonds also carries an estimate of between $250,000 and $350,000.

A gold, diamond, black enamel and black alligator clutch purse - also by Cartier - and a pair of 18-c gold Van Cleef & Arpels cuffs that used to belong to Brazilian model Lucia Moreira Salles will additionally be offered for sale at the auction.

Lisa Hubbard, North and South America chairman of the Sotheby’s international jewellery department, said: "Our sale this season presents a captivating array of jewels that can only be found at auction."
