Monday, 2nd November 2009 (298 views) A new collection of jewellery utilising gold and other materials has been launched by designer Georgina Chapman in collaboration with UK brand Garrard.The range features bracelets, pendants earrings, rings and collars that consist of gemstones laid in yellow gold, among other settings. Each piece has been designed in a style inspired by the feathers used in Chapman's Marchesa fashion collection. The new line was officially launched at a star-studded event in New York last week, with the likes of Mischa Barton, Helena Christensen and Rachel Roy in attendance. "If Chapman's jewels are as popular with the red carpet set as her dresses, we're sure to be seeing her baubles adorning the most glamorous bodies in the world," says Julia Neel of Vogue magazine. Chapman and Garrard first announced their partnership in October 2008. A former model and actress, Chapman launched the Marchesa label in 2004 and her designs have attracted celebrity fans such as Jennifer Lopez, Anne Hathaway, Sienna Miller, Jessica Alba and Renee Zellweger. Garrard's history stretches back to the 18th century. The company has made a variety of jewellery items for the royal family.
