Thursday, 1st October 2009 (4705 views) A former Miss India beauty queen who has just launched a range of gold jewellery has stated that the precious metal is in style.Queenie Dhody is now a designer and creator of the Jewels by Queenie line. She told the Indo-Asian News Service: "Yellow 18-c gold is in. Diamonds look good in beaten yellow gold, which is smart and trendy." In addition, she predicted that gold will remain popular in India even while its price rises, noting that rubies and emeralds do not work so well in silver. Ms Dhody also pointed out the technical advantages of 18-c gold for jewellery creation, explaining that it is better suited to pressure-setting stones than 24-c gold. She once told Magnamags about her passion for jewellery. In an interview, she described how she likes to wear just one ring or bracelet unless she is at a wedding, where Indians expect people to wear a lot of decoration.
