Thursday, 20th August 2009 (4963 views) Hindu worshippers have been lining up to donate gold and other items to a particular temple in Andheri, India.According to the Indo-Asian News Service, the idol in the region's Lord Ganesh temple - known as Andhericha Raja or King of Andheri - is revered for what devotees say is its ability to fulfil wishes. As a result, the statue has amassed a significant collection of gold jewellery and ornaments through donations from worshippers who claim Lord Ganesh made their wishes come true. In fact, so many applications to sponsor the idol have been made that the Andhericha Raja Sarvajnik Ganeshotsav Mandal has been forced to close bookings because the temple has enough sponsors for the next 19 years. Lord Ganesh is the son of Lord Shiva and takes the form of a man with an elephant's head and four arms. He is seen as being a remover of obstacles in the Hindu faith.
