Fundamentals for gold investment 'to become more supportive'The news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Wednesday, 24th June 2009 (3781 views) Gold investment is about to become even more attractive than it already is, it has been suggested.Adam Brochert of the Gold Versus Paper blog explained he believes the global economy is heading into a period of deflation, when gold does particularly well because it maintains its value. "The fundamentals are about to become even more supportive than they are already," he remarked, explaining that he is considering investing more in the commodity in the near future as the market correction comes to an end. Gold is often used as a hedge against deflation and inflation and "shines as a safe haven" for assets, according to Sham Gad of Gad Partners Funds. His opinion, expressed in a recent article for Investopedia, differed from Mr Brochert's in that he felt it will be inflation that sends demand for the precious metal soaring. Shelter Offshore recently stated that gold offers much greater stability as an investment option than national currencies.
