Friday, 12th June 2009 (1156 views) Gladstone Jewellery has announced that one of its gold brooches has been donated to a charity auction.The luxury jeweller provided the 18-c piece in order to help raise money at an event held during the Coutts London Jewellery Week. Said to be worth thousands of pounds, the brooch was one of several items of jewellery on sale at a dinner hosted by the lord and lady mayor of the English capital. St John Ambulance and the Lord's Taverners Charity - an organisation aimed at giving young people the chance to participate in sport - are set to benefit from the funds. Bonhams & Butterfields recently held a charity auction in Los Angeles, with gold jewellery donated by famous actresses among the items on sale. The Stars For A Cause event saw items worn by Oscar-winning stars such as Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron go under the hammer.
