Designer suit features 18-c gold buttonsThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Friday, 24th April 2009 (4195 views) The world's most expensive suit has been created by designer Alexander Amosu and features 18-c gold buttons.Sold for £70,000, the suit took over 80 hours and 5,000 stitches to complete and is made from Vanquish II, a blend of rare vicuna, qiviuk and pashmina wool. Nine gold buttons set with pave diamonds adorn the suit, described by its designer as "the ultimate in luxury". "We create the finest bespoke suits using fabrics which emphasise character, style and individuality," Mr Amosu said. Vicuna is a rare South American animal, similar to a llama, which only produces very small quantities of wool, while qiviuk is the world's most expensive wool. The bespoke suit has been delivered to a private buyer at a party in London. In related news, a recent auction of luxury timepieces in Geneva held by Patrizzi and Co raised a total of CH7.85 million (£4.65 million) and included an 18-c gold self-winding wristwatch by Patek Phillippe.
