Sage Gold has revealed that it has completed an "extensive" prospecting programme on its Paint Lake property in the Beardmore-Geraldton Gold Camp.

The Toronto-based company has found two new zones of gold mineralisation recording 23.09 g/t gold over 4.0m and a grab sample yielding 3.7 g/t gold.

Sage Gold has also conducted an analysis of historic drilling on the Paint Lake prospect by Metalore Resources in the 1980s and has found that the best results occurred in the area of the Sage stripping activity.

Located at the western end of the Ontex Brookbank gold desposit, the Paint Lake property's latest occurrence lies south-west of the original stripped area and 400m east of the property boundary.

Sage Gold plans to strip and channel sample new zones during 2009 and has completed prospecting on the optioned Solomon's Pillars property.

With exploration properties in Ontario, Nevada and Arizona, the firm's main properties are the Jacobus, Paint Lake, Solomon Pillars and Onaman projects.
