Hollywood stars attending last week's Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles wore a series of gold statement jewellery pieces.

According to the National Jeweler Network, classic pieces, drop earrings and bold bangles were key trends at the 2008 awards.

Several actresses arrived at the ceremony in dramatic statement necklaces and yellow gold proved popular with a number of celebrities, including Sandra Bullock and Megan Fox who both wore yellow gold jewellery by Amrapali.

Freida Pinto, one of the star's of Slumdog Millionare, arrived in vintage yellow gold earrings and lace cuff bracelets from Lorraine Schwartz.

Jennifer Lopez wore a dazzling gold dress and jewellery from Lorraine Schwartz, including a gold cuff bracelet.

Founded in 1978 in India, the name Amrapali comes from a famous courtesan who lived during the time of Lord Buddha and was believed to have represented the epitome of beauty, art and culture.
