A new range of 18-c gold wedding jewellery has been launched by a US firm.

Online portal Wedding Bands has unveiled its new collection of rings, which are "artfully crafted to the finest quality with precious metals".

The rings are available in 18-c white or yellow gold and are handcrafted by the company.

Both men's and women's wedding rings - as well as anniversary jewellery - are on offer from the retailer, which described the collection as the "crowning achievement of the master jeweller's art".

The firm stated that it mixes the latest technology with tools that have been used for centuries in handcrafting jewellery, such as hammers and files.

It utilises modern methods to complete the basic frame of a piece, then blends hand-fashioned braids of gold into "graceful patterns" that "compliment each design".

Meanwhile, organisers of the upcoming Baselworld show being held in Switzerland have said it will be one of the jewellery industry's highlights of 2009.
