Mariana reports significant gravity anomaly at BuenaventuraMonday, 1st December 2008 (172 views) Mariana Resources has reported that it has discovered a significant gravity anomaly at its Buenaventura gold project in Northern Chile. The company is carrying out 3D-modelling to define drill targets at the new site. According to Mariana, a significant gravity ridge has been defined extending northwards from the Cerro Brecha prospect for around three km and previous drilling in 2002 at the the southern end of the gravity ridge intersected copper mineralisation with anomalous gold. Located in the highly prospective gold belt between the Freeport Candelaria and Anglo American Manto Verde mines, Mariana has received the preliminary geophysical images from joint venture partner Minotaur Exploration for the Buenaventura prospect. The images outline an area of immediate interest north of Cerro Brecha and Mariana/Minotaur have completed processing of additional and infill gravity surveying over Buenaventura. Mariana and Australian mineral explorer Minotaur are exploring Buenaventura with titleholders Sociedad Minera Contractual Buenaventura.
