Hunt Gold has announced that it has awarded the initial drilling contracts on portions of the company's Mockingbird gold mine to Tonatec.

Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Tonatec will supply a Boart Longyear LF 70 drilling rig for initial core drilling at the Great West, Dandy and Pocahontas gold mines, which form part of the Mockingbird gold property in Arizona.

The rig is capable of drilling more than 1,000ft in depth and an initial programme will test the oxidised layer above the water table for enriched gold vein material up to around 200ft.

Tonatec will supply a crew and ancillary equipment to Hunt Gold for the first phase of its drilling programme on the Mockingbird property, which covers a previously operational gold mine.

Hunt Gold is a gold mining and exploration company with a portfolio of properties that includes Mockingbird, Ambassador, Golden Eagle, Gladstone Lookout, Lady Alde, Starlight, American Flag, Venezia, Cherry and Red Cloud.
