Monday, 17th November 2008 (444 views) London auction house Bonhams has announced it is to sell an "impressive" collection of jewellery formerly owned by late Hollywood actress Deborah Kerr at an upcoming event. The British star's engagement ring dating from 1945 is among items included in the auction, which will take place on December 4th on New Bond Street. A mid-19th century gold and turquoise snake-like chain, which Ms Kerr often used to wear on her wrist, is also featured and is expected to fetch around £2,000-£2,500. The vendors describe the piece as "highly articulated" with a detachable tied ribbon-bow pendant with a swing drop that can be used as a brooch. Ms Kerr's refined British accent and manners endeared her to Hollywood audiences and she was viewed as the "quintessential proper English lady", the auctioneers noted. Meanwhile, several antique gold items of jewellery will be on offer at the Estate Roadshow Auctions event being held in South Carolina, US, on December 7th.
