Results from KSM project "exceed expectations"

Thursday, 23rd October 2008 (308 views)

Seabridge Gold has announced that results from the Kerr-Sulphurets-Mitchell (KSM) project in British Columbia have "exceeded expectations".

Nine holes drilled over the summer have extended the known resource area and confirmed the firm's geological model.

Significant results included 0.65 g/t gold over 195.3 metres, 0.67 g/t gold over 140.8 metres, 0.74 g/t gold over 460.4 metres and 0.79 g/t gold over 240.2 metres.

President and chief executive officer Rudi Fronk said that the company will now expand its model to incorporate the extended high-grade zone.

"In addition, the success of our infill program should mean a significant conversion of inferred resources into the measured and indicated category," he added.

Meanwhile, Silver Standard Resources has outlined a new gold-bearing zone at the Snowfield project, located 40km north of Stewart, British Columbia.

One hole intersected 0.75 g/t gold over 620 metres and another returned 0.95 g/t gold over 425 metres.
