Drilling commences on WS project after firms agree to share knowledgeThursday, 23rd October 2008 (327 views) BCGold has revealed that drilling has commenced on the WS project in central Yukon.Kluane Drilling has been contracted to work on the site, which is adjacent to the Carmacks gold deposit, owned by Western Copper. The firms have agreed to share geophysical survey data and BCGold has been able to conduct an orientation metal geochemical survey over Western Copper's land, as gold trends extend onto the WS property. Eight exploration targets will now be tested along seven discrete geochemical and geophysical trends that were identified by earlier work carried out by BCGold. The company is the largest landowner on the Carmacks Copper-Gold Belt, where it has embarked on a "comprehensive" exploration programme over the course of 2008. It intends to drill on additional newly-defined targets over the latter part of the year. Recently, Sherwood revealed that several intercepts of thick, near surface high-grade mineralisation had been encountered at the Minto mine in Yukon.
