New director for Valencia VenturesWednesday, 22nd October 2008 (282 views) Canadian gold exploration outfit Valencia Ventures has announced a new appointment to its board of directors.Bernard Wilson, who the firm describes as a "senior financial professional with a wide array of working relationships", has been recruited onto the board. He has carried out various "notable leadership roles", the company stated, including a stint as the chairman of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, which represents around 175,000 members. Valencia also revealed that Doug Bache has resigned his post as director to pursue other opportunities. The firm thanked him for his past contributions and wished him well for the future. Meanwhile, company will continue to focus on its exploration activities, including the Cachinal and Juncal precious metal projects in Chile. In other recent Canadian mining news, Adventure Gold announced that it had commenced an eight-hole drilling programme covering 2,500 metres at its Beaufor North and Senore projects.
