'Positive' local reception to El Colmillo gold mineTuesday, 30th September 2008 (304 views) Tao Minerals has announced that it has had a positive reception from the local population as it gears up to commence operations at its El Colmillo gold mine in Colombia.The company stated that it plans to conduct work in a manner that will uphold its image as a valuable asset for local communities. Regional authorities are enthusiastic about the economic advantages that the mine will bring to the area and are assisting the firm with developing an access road to the site, it added. "As you can imagine, we are very excited to be starting up mining operations at El Colmillo," commented James Sikora, chief executive officer. He added that the company is "looking forward" to the returns from production at the mine and that progress reports will be released as ore processing is conducted. Meanwhile, Bellhaven has announced that it has been granted three exploration licences covering 6,440 hectares in the Bolivar province of Colombia.
