Work completed at Queen Alexandra gold mine

Friday, 26th September 2008 (398 views)

Cannon Exploration has announced that its reconnaissance programme conducted on the Queen Alexandra gold mine in northern Ontario has been completed.

Major Management Exploration Services were recruited to conduct a geophysical survey on the ground that indicated a conductive zone was present in the vicinity.

The study supports historical information that noted mineralisation is located in the immediate shaft area of the property.

In addition, the latest analysis confirms there are mineralisation trends running alongside a spot where several trenches and an exploration pit already exist.

Future strategies that will now be employed by the company include a "thorough investigation"of shafts and the collecting of rock samples.

Meanwhile, Metallum Resources has revealed that it discovered gold grades of up 24.69 g/t at its McMillan mine in Ontario.

The company has a range of gold projects in the region located between Timmins and Sudbury in Chester Township.
