Bonanza grade gold found at Newmont Lake

Monday, 22nd September 2008 (377 views)

Romios Gold Resources has revealed that it has encountered bonanza grade gold mineralisation at its Newmont Lake project in north-west British Columbia.

One "extremely high grade" zone provided 753 g/t gold over a length of 0.44 metres - this was contained within a wider area that assayed 26.44 g/t gold over 14 metres.

Two other gold intervals were intersected by the exploration work in the Galore Creek area of the property.

President Tom Drivas commented: "We are very excited about the bonanza grade mineralization intersected in this metallurgical hole."

Core samples from each hole were split on-site using a saw and then hand delivered to a laboratory owned by ALS Chemex of Vancouver for analysis.

Assay results from various other zones at the property are pending and are expected to be released soon.

Meanwhile, NovaGold Resources has announced that production can now commence at its Rock Creek gold mine in Alaska after gaining approval from state regulators.
