Gold discovery at Gramalote

Friday, 5th September 2008 (393 views)

B2Gold has announced a new gold discovery on the Gramalote property in Colombia.

Results from the Trinidad zone of the project included 1.13 g/t Au over 109.4 metres from hole two and 1.24 g/t Au over 101.85 metres in hole four.

Overall, 17 drill holes totalling over 6,100 metres have been created in the area, reaching a maximum vertical depth of 390 metres.

This has revealed a gold mineralisation trend running from east to west. Although a 1,000 by 500 metre area has been drilled for testing, the whole size of the Trinidad zone is still being defined.

It is located near the town of Providencia. The gold zone was initially identified with trenching and drilling on soil geochemical anomalies.

Meanwhile, Cambridge Mineral Resources - which operates the Quintana gold mine in Colombia - has held its annual general meeting. The firm has an output equivalent to 100,000 ounces of gold a year.
