International jewellery house Damas has announced that a new 22-c gold range is being released to coincide with the Onam festivities.

The Onam Masterpiece set, containing a necklace and drop earrings, has a floral theme and is accentuated with diamonds. The firm describes it as the ideal adornment for the festival's gatherings.

Promotions have also been launched across its 49 shops within the United Arab Emirates, which will run from August 30th until September 13th.

Managing director Tawhid Abdullah said: "This special occasion calls for delightful gift ideas … this is our way of showing gratitude to our valued clients who have supported us through the years."

One of the offers includes a deal where customers receive a free pearl necklace with every AED 3,500 (£520) spent on gold jewellery.

The Onam celebration is the largest festival of Kerala (a state of the Indian Union), taking place in the first month of the Malayalam Calendar.
