Eaglecrest completes two gold concentrate shipmentsTuesday, 19th August 2008 (365 views) Two gold concentrate shipments have been completed in Eaglecrest's San Simon project in Bolivia. The shipments, which were the company's eighth and ninth, went to the Met-Mex Penoles SA de CV smelter in Mexico. One comprised 1.51 tonnes with 227 ounces of gold at a grade of 150 ounces per tonne. The other was 1.65 tonnes, with 214 ounces of gold at a grade of 144 ounces per tonne. Hans Rasmussen, president and chief executive officer of Eaglecrest, said the operation had yielded "useful geological information" and that the company would use the money from the sale of the concentrates to offset some of its exploration costs. Eaglecrest's San Simon project is 450 km north of Santa Cruz in Bolivia, 20 km from the border with Brazil. The San Simon Plateua has been mined since the first discovery of gold there in the mid 18th century, with the most active time being in the 1990s when an estimated 75,000 oz of gold was produced.
