Jewellery exhibition concludes in Pakistan

Monday, 18th August 2008 (1004 views)

A four-day jewellery exhibition has concluded in Islamabad this week, according to the Daily Times.

The newspaper states the event displayed work by Attiquur Rehman, who specialises in the manufacture of gold and silver jewellery studded with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, tanzanites, sapphires and other coloured gems.

It claims Mr Rehman's collection was popular with a large number of fashion-conscious women because of its vibrant colours and designs, its competitive prices and its contemporary style.

Speaking to the Daily Times, Mr Rehman said: "Every piece of our jewellery is unique in design and shape and is designed and handcrafted by our best craftsmen and artisans."

However, he added as gold prices were rising, he might start to turn to other materials to craft his jewellery.

Commenting on the event in Islamabad, he said exhibitions provided women with the opportunity to find their perfect accessory.

Meanwhile the Economic Times reports that Tata Gold Plus has created a record by producing a gold bangle measuring six feet in diameter.
