The American Numismatic Association has reported that a highly-anticipated 2009-dated gold coin is set to be unveiled by the director of the United States Mint at the World's Fair of Money in Baltimore, Maryland.

Ed Moy is set to reveal the $20 (£20) gold coin at the event, which is set to take place between July 30th and August 3rd.

"Money is history you can hold in your hands," said Barry Stuppler, president of the American Numismatic Association.

He added that with thousands of dealers and collectors buying and selling items from around the world, the show may be an educational event for all in attendance.

The American Numismatic Association has previously stated that the upcoming event will feature exhibits from 15 mints on five continents.

Hosted at the Balitmore Convention Centre, it is expected that a total of 1,100 dealers and numismatic vendors will take part in the exhibition.
