Sierra Leone grants mining lease

Thursday, 17th July 2008 (478 views)

A 25-year mining lease has been granted to the Baomahun Gold by the government in Sierra Leone.

Baomahun Gold is a subsidiary of Cluff Gold, which owns 60 per cent and the lease is for the Baomahun gold project.

Winston Mines owns the remaining 40 per cent of the company.

Douglas Chikohora, technical director of Cluff Gold, said: "This marks a significant milestone for the company in the development of the Baomahun project where a pre-feasibility study is currently underway and a bankable feasibility study is planned by the end of 2009."

The company said assay results at the gold project also show there is good mineralisation being intersected at depths further down than 350 metres.

Cluff Gold is a company focused on west African gold deposits with properties in Ghana, Mali, the Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso. It made the transition from gold explorer to gold producer in the first quarter of 2008.
