A gold pendant owned by Lil Jon, the rapper and TV star, has won a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The pendant, which has an appraised value of $500,000 (£250,891), is the largest item of its kind in the world, according to Diamond Intelligence Briefs.

Featuring 2,756 round-cut white stones set in 18-carat yellow and white gold, the pendant is six inches wide, one inch thick and 7.5 inches tall.

Alistair Richards, managing director of Guinness World Records, told the news provider of the organisation's pleasure to welcome Lil Jon into its family of record breakers, congratulating the rapper for his achievement.

Lil Jon is involved in production and promotional activities within the music industry, as well as his rapping with the Eastside Boyz.

Commenting on the world record, he said: "I'm glad the Guinness World Records folks acknowledged me and my Crunk Ain't Dead piece."

"Let's just see how many rappers try to outdo my pendant and break my record," added the recording artist.
