Sierra Gold to increase production

Thursday, 26th June 2008 (489 views)

Sierra Gold Corporation has announced today (June 26th) that it is increasing its gold production by between 400 and 500 per cent.

It is thought that now the company has purchased river dredging equipment it will now be able to extract gold from river beds.

"We are excited about the prospect of dredging the river for gold throughout the year including the rainy season and of increasing the gold reserves for the company," Doug Evans, chief executive of Sierra Gold commented.

It is estimated that the gold extracted from river beds will increase potential gold reserves, which are predicted to be just over 936,000 ounces.

Sierra Gold is associated with the exploration and development of gold and diamonds in west Africa.

This region of Africa has one of the longest histories of gold mining and is one of the fastest gold producing areas in the world.

A number of large international companies have spent millions of pounds in exploration and development in the resource sector in this part of Africa.
