A new branch of gold jewellery retailer Tiffany is set to open in Australia in July.

Store heads are planning a Breakfast At Tiffany's-themed party to mark the new shop, which will be located on the city's King Street.

"We are in the process of planning an elaborate opening event, which we are very excited about," managing director Glen Schlehuber told the West Australian.

Tiffany was established in 1837 with a New York shop that was to become the favourite place of Holly Golightly, the Truman Capote character played by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 film.

On the Manhattan store's first opening day, it took $4.98 (£2.58), the company's website reveals.

Now, jewellery fans in Australia may be eagerly awaiting the glitzy, film-based opening party for the shop, which throws its doors open on July 24th.

Gold items sold by Tiffany include the Etoile heart charm, made from 18-carat gold.
