Updated estimate from StrataGoldThursday, 12th June 2008 (449 views) An updated National Instrument 43-101 mineral resource estimate has been released by the StrataGold Corporation.In the South American country of Guyana, drilling on the Tassawini deposit totals 58,390 metres and the Sonne deposit covers 43,284 metres, across 440 diamond drill holes. They incorporate six zones and results are reported using 0.5 grams per tonne gold cut off grade. Phase one of Stratagold's exploration into the South American site began on February 1st this year. In 2007, the resource estimate for the Tassawini area had an indicated gold resource of 208,316 ounces of gold, with an average grade of 1.73 grams per tonne. Tassawini covers roughly 4,818 hectares and has been the site of a gold mine since 1907. Approximately 11,200 ounces of gold w ere recovered in the seven years following the mine's completion. StrataGold has spent around $22 million (£11.2 million) on Tassawini since its acquisition in 2004. StrataGold also has properties at Dublin Gulch, in Canada, and at the Barama Reconnaissance Permit in Guyana.
