Results announced for Detour Gold CorporationWednesday, 11th June 2008 (503 views) Detour Gold Corporation has released its phase two drilling program results.The results cover 27 holes at the Calcite and Gap zones of the Detour Lake property in Ontario. Results showed 1.85 g/t over 113.5 metres and 1.37 g/t over 71 metres. Phase two started in July 2007 and has so far completed 302 holes, totalling 119,002 metres. The company has now reported 187 holes that cover 68,428 metres. In the Calcite zone, 22 holes indicated additional gold mineralisation between the $575 (£292) to $700 (£356) pit shell. Detour Gold said that is was "extremely confident in meeting its objectives of outlining a mineral resource of over ten million ounces of gold at Detour Lake". The phase two drill program is expected to finish in the middle of 2008. Detour Lake covers 242 square kilometres and contains a near-surface gold resource of 7.8 million ounces. The mine was discovered in 1974 by Amoco Petroleum.
