Drilling begins for Molycor in Nevada

Wednesday, 11th June 2008 (523 views)

Drilling by the Molycor Gold Corporation has started at the Davis Gold Property in Nevada.

Seven diamond drill HQ core holes are to be used in the hope of confirming the presence of gold in the area, as reported by a 1980s drilling programme by the US Mining and Smelting Company (USSRAM).

At the time, the project found "significant ore-grade material that averaged 3.8 grams/ton in six of 11 holes at the Davis mine".

In January this year, Molycor announced the addition of 123 new unpatented mining claims on the Davis Gold property, bringing the total to 148 claims across 1,200 hectares.

Gold in samples collected by Molycor from old prospects along the trend at the Davis mine showed highs of three grams/ton gold. A 2000 report from USSRAM geologist, William T Worthington, found that the Davis vein has a depth of around 500 feet and a strike length of 300 to 400 feet.
