24ct gold book to join 007 exhibitionWednesday, 21st May 2008 (1089 views) The new Young James Bond book will be celebrated by the creation of a 24ct gold volume, according to a report.Hurricane Gold is the latest Young Bond book, written by Charlie Higson and published by Puffin, mi6.co.uk states. The company says the gold copy is a "first in publishing history". The gold volume has been designed and made by British jeweller Theo Fennell, who makes items for celebrities. It will go on show at the Imperial War Museum's current exhibition entitled For Your Eyes Only: Ian Fleming and James Bond. A compartment inside the book contains a secret note from the Young Bond writer himself. Hurricane Gold is the fourth book in the Young Bond series, which is aimed at ten to14-year-olds. The first three have sold almost three-quarters of a million copies and were commissioned by Ian Fleming Publications. Puffin's blurb of the book begins: "As the sun blazes over the Caribbean island of Lagrimas Negras, its bloodthirsty ruler is watching and waiting. "Criminals come here to hide, with blood on their hands and escape on their minds."
