Jewellery award for gold ringFriday, 9th May 2008 (502 views) An 18 carat gold ring design has won gold at a prestigious jewellery awards event, it has emerged.The Goldsmiths Craftsmanship & Design Awards recently presented Sarah Herriot with the top prize for her "innovative" gold ring design in the Fine Jewellery category. Sponsored by the International Jewellery London (IJL) show - taking place in the capital in August and September of this year - the awards ceremony welcomed guests such as Shaun Leane, Martyn Pugh and Michael Allchin of the Birmingham Assay Office to the ceremony. The IJL states that its commitment to encouraging and recognising new talent in the jewellery sector was its motivation for acting as special patrons of the award. Chris Hartley of the show said: "We are extremely impressed by the high standard of entries at this years Awards. Each year at IJL the standard of design goes from strength to strength and it seems that this trend is set to continue." Commencing on August 31st of this year, the IJL is held at Earls Court and finishes on September 3rd.
