Bespoke bed linen spun with 22 carat gold

Tuesday, 29th April 2008 (407 views)

The "most expensive bed linen in the world" is spun with 22 carat gold, it has emerged.

Luxury products blog Lussorian was eager to pronounce the linen - made by designer Charlotte Thomas - as the priciest of its kind when it emerged that the bespoke product contains real gold.

The company hand makes "every piece of linen to individual specification, using the finest super 150's merino wool spun with genuine 22 carat gold, luxuriously backed with fine Indian hand-loom silk jacquard," notes the news source.

And Charlotte Thomas claims that its bespoke bedding is the finest in the world, noting that it is only available from a select group of retailers worldwide.

Beyond its bespoke collection, the company produces four ranges of bed linen, entitled Kristina, Lucy, Amelia and Joanna, as well as throws and accessories.

However, only with the made-to-order product will the shopper be able to sleep on genuine, 22 carat gold.
