Specially-commissioned gold jewellery on offer at charity ball

Friday, 25th April 2008 (617 views)

A specially-commissioned piece of gold jewellery is among the donations set to raise funds for a range of charitable causes at the annual Full Length and Fabulous black-tie ball in Perth, Scotland, it has been reported.

The exclusive piece was donated by Scottish jewellery retailer Lorraine Law, which has a store in Perth.

According to local newspaper the Perthshire Advertiser, it will be auctioned alongside a number of other "one-off luxuries" at the fundraiser - which it organised alongside Perth St John's Rotary Club.

They include weekend for two at Ackergill Tower in Caithness, the chance to host a radio show with a presenter from Radio Tay and a 16-year-old bottle of single malt whiskey plus a VIP ticket to the Dewar's distillery.

Money raised at the event, which takes place on June 20th at the Murrayshall Country House Hotel, will go towards local good causes including the Perth and Kinross Young Carers.

Alison Lowson, the newspaper's editor, said organisers were "delighted" with the response so far from auction donors.

"We are extremely grateful to all those who have pledged support so far, but there's always room for more," she added.
