Collected by the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, the display is said to reflect the complex relationship between residents of ancient Egypt and their gods. Pharoahs and animals such as sheep and crocodiles are represented in statue form, while a highlight is said to be a piece depicting a young princess nursing her newborn baby. "The metal work, buried under temples amid troves of treasure, offers a fascinating glimpse into the social and cultural environment of the ancient Egyptians," the publication notes. The exhibition runs until June 8th 2008 and is accessible by train from Martigny. One of 26 cantons of Switzerland, Valais separates the Pennine Alps from the Bernese Alps.
