Gold producer begins recruitment drive in PeruTuesday, 11th March 2008 (2050 views) Nilam Resources has announced a local recruitment drive to increase its labour force ahead of a major exploration and development programme at its Pativilca mine in Peru. The company said the expanded workforce would support increased production at the mine, which is Nilam's flagship project, as well as "aggressive" surface and underground exploration campaigns. Investigations at the site are aimed at discovering and defining a large ore body at Pativilca in order to make Nilam one of Peru's major gold producers. In tandem with its increased production and exploration operations, Nilam has also announced that the recently acquired Pativilca Plant processing and refinery installation will be employed to increase the rate at which ore is processed into refined gold. Commenting on the company's recruitment plans, Nilam Resources chairman Len DeMelt said: "We believe that more miners are an integral part of our expansion plans and will significantly increase production at our mine." Nilam currently runs three gold mining operations in Peru - Pativilca, El Varon and LLIPA.
