Gold to be sold at new Tiffany store

Thursday, 28th February 2008 (1167 views)

A new California branch of jeweller Tiffany & Co is set to feature gold jewellery, it has been announced.

The smaller-format design is to be built in the Glendale area of the state and will be opened in October of this year in a new 900,000 square-foot retail and residential complex.

Browsing will reportedly be invited at the store, which is to offer "strong statements" through its gold pieces in an atmosphere of elegance and ease.

Beth O'Canavan, executive vice-president of Tiffany & Co, said that the new store would adopt a more playful, experimental approach while staying true to the Tiffany ethos.

"The store architecture and jewellery collections reflect our great tradition of quality and craftsmanship - familiar aspects of the Tiffany & Co shopping experience that we look forward to delivering to our many customers in the important Los Angeles market," she added.

Founded in 1837, the jeweller was immortalised by Truman Capote in his novella Breakfast at Tiffany's.
