Oscar stars shine in goldMonday, 25th February 2008 (1087 views) A number of stars adorned themselves in gold to attend this year's Oscars ceremony, it has emerged.The most important night of the film industry year saw an array of thespians choose the precious metal to display their fashion nous. According to the Telegraph, Rosamund Pike - actress and fiance of Joe Wright, who was nominated in the best director category for Atonement - offset her yellow, one-shouldered dress with gold jewels from H Stern. "The stars who stood out did so because they did not follow the herd, but made individual choices which suited their personality and circumstances," commented the newspaper of the evening's fashion. Meanwhile, best actress nominee Laura Linney - whose previous roles include Mary-Ann Singleton in the TV adaptation of Armistead Maupin's cult series of novels Tales of the City - wore a necklace by Cathy Waterman featuring gold and a green gem, reports Hello! The relationship between gold and the film industry is highlighted further by the new Kate Hudson movie Gold Rush, featuring a tale of treasure hunters looking for the valuable commodity.
