Salvation army 'gold donator' revealed - again

Friday, 21st December 2007 (1997 views)

The mystery 'gold donator' at Livingstone County Salvation Army, Michigan has been rumbled once again.

Frank Wittman attempted to anonymously donate a gold bar into the Salvation Army's collection kettle, however he was once again tracked down, reports Press & Argus.

This is not the first time Mr Wittman has tried the ploy, but his regularity of dropping the gold bar in a kettle outside a Wal-Mart in Genoa Township is making it ever easier to reveal his identity.

Mr Wittman's gold bar is valued at $650 (£320) and is also wrapped in a $100 note making it a significant donation.

Captain Derek Rose of Livingstone's Salvation Army welcomed the donation, insisting that it could not come a better time with many more people seeking assistance from the organisation.

Commenting on this year's kettle campaign, he confirmed: "We are hoping to raise $130,000 this year."

Meanwhile, handmade jewellery is to feature in a new exhibition in the galleries of Vail Valley in Colorado.
