Rachel Stevens' sense of style has been commended by one fashion publication, with the icon's penchant for gold jewellery singled out for particular praise.

According to Independent News & Media, the former S Club 7 singer is making up for her absence on the charts by tearing up the red carpet with gold-laden style.

Naming Stevens the best dressed celebrity of 2007, the news provider noted that she combines practical chic with sparkle - the latter provided by the star's favourite form of jewellery, gold.

A recent photograph of Stevens is said to illustrate her style credentials: "Looking practical (well, it is December), but still channelling her inner glamour goddess, this chic black suit is the perfect foil for her accessories -- skinny belt, super clutch and understated gold jewellery."
